ART FROM THE REININGHAUS COLLECTION, COLOGNE

Exhibtion: 16.7. - 3.10.2010
Opening: 16.7. / 6 - 10 PM

Ulrich Reininghaus is a passionate collector who started his collection in the 1980s with a focus on artist books from artists like Picasso, Matisse or Fautrier . He then went on to collect editions by younger artists like Blinky Palermo, Paul Thek or Sigmar Polke (which he donated to the Museum Ludwig, Cologne last year).
After selling his company in 1995 and with competent support from his wife Anna and the gallery owner Daniel Buchholz he then extend his collection towards singular works and workgroups by contemporary artists like Morgan Fisher, Sylvie Fleury, Isa Genzken, Carsten Höller, Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke and Rosemarie Trockel. In addition to those well known positions there are also younger artists like Tomma Abts, Kai Althoff, Cosima von Bonin, Jutta Koether, Florian Pumhösl or Katharina Wulff featured in the Reininghaus Collection.

We are very proud to be the first venue to present a broad selection of works from this collection to the public.

VISITS / TOURS:_

A visit to the collection is only possible through an advance reservation for a guided tour each Saturday at 3 PM and 5 PM

Costs: 15 Euro for a single person for a guided tour / 140 Euro for a private Group (by appointment)
Groups are limited to a maximum of 20 persons.
