CONCEPTUAL PHOTOGRAPHY FROM THE FALCKENBERG COLLECTION
As part of the Triennial of Photography, the Deichtorhallen will be showing a selection of works of conceptual photography from the Falckenberg Collection in a satellite exhibition at the Hamburg-Harburg branch. The exhibition features works by John Baldessari, Lewis Baltz, Clegg & Guttmann, Phil Collins, Albert Oehlen, Martin Parr, Peter Piller, Sigmar Polke, Richard Prince, Martha Rosler, Gerhard Rühm, Santiago Sierra, and Christopher Williams.

The Falckenberg Collection comprises some 2000 works of contemporary art. Its focus is on German and American contemporary art from the past 40 years. The collection is oriented toward multimedia art, and photography also plays an important role in it. The selected works from the Falckenberg Collection are an iconic demonstration of the broad spectrum of modern visual culture, ranging from the documentation of social realities to positions of counterculture. These include political correctness as well as ironic, satirical, and even cynical commentaries.

Together with ASTRID KLEIN − TRANSCENDENTAL HOMELESS CENTRALNERVOUS the exhibition is on view until 2 September 2018.
